EfW facilities across Europe

Our European neighbours have been developing and implementing energy from waste facilities for a long while now. EfW facilities form a central element of their waste disposal.

Denmark has a noticeable history in incineration with energy recovery. It was introduced as a method of treating waste in 1903.

The UK already has fourteen EfW facilities, including three facilities in Hampshire and is looking to expand this number.

One Hampshire waste to energy project is further explained on: www.integra.org.uk/about/index.html

In addition to those in the UK there is an EfW plant in Dublin, which is further explained on: www.dublinwastetoenergy.ie
